Alice is Co-Head of Shanghai Litigation Team. Alice has been practising IP law for twenty years and has a legal education background in China and the UK.

Alice advises on contentious and non-contentious Intellectual Property (IP) matters, covering all areas of trade mark, trade name, trade secret, domain name, copyright, design, and patent for clients in multifarious industries, including technology, digital & internet, chemicals & pharmaceutical, manufacturing & engineering, FMCG, entertainment, hotel services and luxury goods. Alice is experienced in advising on IP strategies and managing IP enforcement programmes in China, with a focus on trade mark, unfair competition and copyright enforcement projects. Alice has handled landmark cases in China, which received awards from courts and industrial organisations.

• Trade mark infringement and unfair competition litigation (New Balance vs New Barlun), obtaining damage awards of in total RMB 35.8 million and an interim injunction – Top 10 Typical IP Protection Cases of Shanghai Courts 2022.
• Trade mark infringement and unfair competition litigation (Burberry vs Baneberry), obtaining an interim injunction prohibiting the use of the defendant’s trade marks which have been registered for more than 5 years and obtaining the well-known trademark designations for the client’s two trade marks – Top 10 IP Cases of Suzhou Courts 2021.
• Unfair competition litigation protecting the shoe shape of New Balance’s 327 collections – Top 10 IP Cases of Jiangxi Courts.
• Copyright infringement litigation successfully protected the design of the eye part of a famous cartoon image, obtaining a damage award of RMB 3.5 million.
